Thank you, Ainsley. I`m glad you liked this article. I agree with your comments. It is important to keep them as members of the team charter. One of the most important tasks at the first meetings is to sign a team agreement that clearly defines your expectations for each other, your operational parameters and how you define success at the end of the project. There are many ways to create team agreements. The main idea is to keep it simple and real. It should be defined by the team, not just by the project manager. Ask the team 3-5 things they think a team should do to support itself, head to the target. They could come with themes such as “active participation” and “communication.” Encourage them to identify specific soft skills and interpersonal behaviours. Be sure to disconnect the team document for agreements.

Some teams agree by showing a hand show, others can physically maintain the paper that contains the list of chords and brainstorming notes. This requires public accountability between them and the project manager. Some teams print them out and post them near their desk or conference room. Creating team agreements offers a number of advantages. During the planning phase of the project, the project manager had an important meeting with stakeholders. The debate focused on stakeholder requirements. Some of these requirements were in conflict. Some of these requirements had to be eliminated in order to maintain the project to a defined extent. Team agreement is an effective way to address these issues. If you develop a number of team agreements on how you want to work when difficult problems arise, you are much better equipped to deal with the challenges that arise. Team agreements will help you work together so that they truly honor each other and come back to a certain meaning for defined purposes when you experience the inevitable challenges of working in team recruitment.

Each member must learn to communicate with professionalism, trust and compassion, even in difficult situations. Team agreements can also be used for projects with SCRUM. You should continue to maintain the team agreements and update them following retrospectives. The refined team chords can be used in subsequent sprints. This is an important step in the development of a “one group of people” to a scrum team. This is a real-life scenario that happened in one of the company-wide IT projects I participated in as a stakeholder a few years ago.
